Mr Roger Zais

Roger grew up in Germany and after qualifying from dental school in 2002 started his career in Bavaria close to the Austrian border. He stayed there for 4 years until 2006, when he moved to the UK, to Yorkshire. Originally thought to be just a short spell abroad he met his wife to be, Renée, which changed his plans somewhat. In 2013 Roger and Renée decided to relocated to the Borders to take over Mr Miller’s practice upon his retirement.
Roger’s interests outside of dentistry are vintage and classic cars, cycling and modern art and sculptures. He speaks English and German. |

Mrs Renée Zais

Renée is originally from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where she also went to dental school and graduated in 2000. She spent the first years of her career in Sunderland until 2004 when she moved to York.
In her spare time Renée loves cooking and baking and owns a large collection of cookery books. She is also interested in science, history and modern art. Renée speaks English and Greek. |

Mrs Layna Tait

Layna joined the team in 2015 enabling us to expand the range of dental hygiene treatments we offer. She currently works Tuesdays and Fridays.

Miss Fiona Borthwick

Fiona qualified as a dental nurse in 1995 and has been with the practice since 2009. She is usually found on reception and will be your first contact when you phone or visit the practice.
Outwith work Fiona enjoys doing yoga to relax and going to football matches with her dad. |

Mrs Zoe Meikle

Zoe also joined the practice in 2009 after studying dental nursing at Telford College Edinburgh the previous year. She mainly assists the dentists with the treatment, working chair side in the surgery.
Out of surgery Zoe enjoys socialising with friends, listening to music and walking in the local area. |

Mrs Samantha Melville

Sam joined Peebles Dental Practice in 2015 after moving to Peebles. She can also be mainly found in surgery assisting the dentists.
In her spare time Sam likes walking her two dogs and horse riding. |

Miss Fiona Watson

Fiona W. lives in Galashiels and joined the practice in 2024. She has been working as a dental nurse in the Borders for many years and can mainly be found chair side.

Kirsteen (Kirsty) is the latest addition to the team and joined the practice part-time in August 2025.
